Fair Haven, set along the gentle bend of the Navesink River in Monmouth County, is beloved for its welcoming neighborhoods, well-regarded schools, and the kind of close-knit community feel that has become increasingly rare. Its location near Red Bank and Rumson offers residents the best of both worlds, blending small-town familiarity with the relaxed rhythms of coastal New Jersey living. Even in such an inviting setting, the everyday pressures of family life, school expectations, work demands, and lingering emotional strain can contribute to anxiety, depression, mood changes, sleep difficulties, or attention-related challenges for adults and young people alike.
Elemental Psychiatry LLC works with individuals and families in Fair Haven who are seeking personalized psychiatric care that genuinely fits their lives. Through comprehensive evaluation and individualized treatment planning, the practice supports children, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. In a community where people often work hard to hold everything together, thoughtful psychiatric care can offer the space, clarity, and steady support needed to feel more like themselves again.

Tucked into the northern Jersey Shore, Fair Haven enjoys a quietly enviable position bordered by Little Silver to the south and the waters of the Shrewsbury just beyond. The borough’s tree-lined streets, historic homes, and waterfront vistas create a distinctly New England-meets-Jersey-Shore atmosphere, while local favourites like Fair Haven Fields, Memorial Park, and McCarter Pond offer plenty of space to gather, play, and unwind. Convenient access to the Garden State Parkway, NJ Transit rail service, and the Sea Streak ferry places residents within easy reach of New York City, the broader Monmouth County region, and the beaches of Sandy Hook and the Atlantic shoreline just a short drive away.

If you or someone you love has struggled to find relief from mental health challenges, you are not alone. Many people feel discouraged after trying medications or therapy without lasting improvement. At Elemental Psychiatry, we understand how overwhelming that journey can be.
Our mission is to offer a more comprehensive and compassionate approach to mental health care. Through functional and integrative psychiatry, we look beyond symptoms and explore underlying biochemical factors that may contribute to emotional and cognitive struggles. By combining biochemical testing, nutritional support, supplements, and thoughtful medication management, we help patients uncover answers and move toward lasting stability and healing.
Elemental Psychiatry is led by Dr. Valeria Dworkowitz, who graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree specializing in Psychiatric/Mental Health. She founded her private practice in 2018 to provide personalized psychiatric care that takes the time to truly understand each patient.
Unlike larger practices where patients may see multiple providers, Elemental Psychiatry is intentionally designed as a one-provider practice. Every patient works directly with Dr. Dworkowitz, allowing for continuity of care and a strong therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Dworkowitz serves patients in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, offering both in-person and telemedicine appointments by combining traditional psychiatry with advanced training in functional psychiatry, metabolic psychiatry, biochemical testing, and nutritional psychiatry. Her approach integrates medication when appropriate with targeted vitamins, minerals, supplements, and specialized lab testing to better understand the biological factors influencing mental health.

Treatment begins with a two-hour psychiatric evaluation designed to thoroughly understand your history, symptoms, and goals.
During this session:
This comprehensive evaluation allows care to begin with a clear and thoughtful foundation.
Based on the psychiatric evaluation, specialized lab testing may be recommended to explore potential biochemical imbalances affecting mental health.
Testing may include:
After testing is completed, a detailed lab review explains all clinically significant findings. From there, a personalized supplement and nutritional protocol is created.
Targeted nutritional support can significantly influence brain health and emotional stability. Individualized supplement protocols may include vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients selected to address biochemical imbalances. Best effects from protocols are usually seen within 2-3 months, after which, progress is reviewed, and adjustments are made if needed.
Medication can be an important part of treatment when used carefully. At Elemental Psychiatry, medication is prescribed thoughtfully and often combined with nutritional and biochemical support.
The goal is always to stabilize symptoms using the least amount of medication necessary while supporting overall brain health.
Dr. Dworkowitz also incorporates therapeutic techniques that support emotional healing and long-term resilience. She is trained in EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Pranic Healing, and her care is trauma-informed.
She has particular experience supporting individuals with PTSD and Complex PTSD, especially those related to childhood adversity and childhood trauma.

Dr. Dworkowitz has experience working with patients with various disorders including:

Valeria Dworkowitz and Elemental Psychiatry LLC do not accept insurance and are considered out-of-network providers with payment due at time of service.
We understand that navigating insurance can be important to your care. If your plan allows for out-of-network benefits, we are happy to provide the necessary documentation to support your reimbursement submission (also known as a Superbill).
We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your out-of-network coverage and eligibility. We are here to help guide you through the process whenever possible.
Beginning care at Elemental Psychiatry starts with a 15–20 minute introductory phone consultation. This call allows you to briefly share your concerns and determine whether the practice is the right fit for your needs.
If it is a good match, the next step is scheduling your comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. From there, appointments are typically scheduled every 2–6 weeks until symptoms stabilize, with follow-up visits often transitioning to quarterly check-ins once stability is achieved.

Mental health is closely connected to the body’s chemistry. Nutrient deficiencies, metabolic imbalances, genetic expression and epigenetics, gut health, and environmental toxins can all influence mood, attention, and emotional regulation.
At Elemental Psychiatry, treatment is guided by the concept of biochemical individuality, meaning each person’s brain chemistry is unique and requires a personalized approach.
Through functional lab testing and biochemical assessments, we gain deeper insight into what may be contributing to symptoms. This allows treatment plans to include:
For residents of Fair Haven seeking discreet, personalized psychiatric care, Elemental Psychiatry, LLC offers a thoughtful and individualized approach. We support children, teens, and adults with high-quality mental health treatment designed for lasting progress.
